I couldn't work out where Glen was meant to be; some sort of bording school?

I was thinking he was at some fancy summer camp since it seemed like the Draper kids weren't in school yet.

I really loved the end sequence of this episode; the feeling of elation on behalf of all parties as they excuse themselves for a few moments, only for everyone to return to the table somehow broken.

A lot of people are picking "something else" for the Abe and Peggy question... what exactly did you guys think he was going to say? Something random and/or weird that we could never guess?

I thought he had bad news like he was dying or something else non-relationship related.

Poor Peggy, always on the edge of being happy and just having to find the good things about what she got.

I really enjoyed this episode. It wasn't as crazy as some of the past ones but it was good. Lots of commentary on the differences between generations. Which was present in all the obvious character interactions but the Heinz pitch was based on it as well.

I don't care what anyone says- I like Sally and Glen. They're super sweet friends. It's nice for her to have one constant, stable relationship in her life. Someone who really listens to her. Someone who is around her age and also a child of divorce that understands.

Peggy and Joan! Ah, I just want them to be friends. I really loved their scenes. Especially the last one. I like seeing the girls in the office stick together. Marriage is a concept that's definitely fallen out of favour with Joanie for the moment. Rightfully disillusioned by it after Greg.

Don and Megan made a really strong team at the dinner with Heinz. But I honestly don't know how to feel about them half the time. 'cos we got the train wreck that was last week followed by some great scenes where they're genuinely good together. Don was really into her idea and gave credit where credit was due after the fact.

Megan's mother and father have joined this shows very lengthy list of 'bad parents.' Do none of these people have kind, supportive folks or what?

Mona! It was great having her back on the show. I'd love to see her and Roger take LSD together. Speaking of, "Lots of people that haven't taken LSD already know that, Roger." Omg, I laughed so hard. Clearly he's told everyone in the office that would listen (and probably people who wouldn't either) about his life altering experience. And he was so priceless with Sally. Until the whole blowjob thing kind of ruined it all.

Sally's so grown up! Her keeping such a level head when Pauline broke her ankle. The fact they mentioned her hating fish and yet she ate it anyway at the ball- she's matured.

Best last line of an episode since "The Gypsy and the Hobo." Just perfect.

Dude, the Joan/Lane kiss happened two episodes ago and we haven't gotten anything on that since. What's going on there? YOU CAN'T JUST DROP IT LIKE THAT, WEINER. Well, you can, BUT IT'S CRUEL.

The next episode is "Lady Lazarus." The title is taken from a Sylvia Plath poem. Which runs with the whole death and suicide theme of this season. The particular piece has a lot of holocaust imagery. So it may be a Ginsberg heavy episode. Although considering the last bit I'd say Joan is going to have some stuff going on as well:
Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air.

Another fantastic episode from season 5.

I thought the Roger/Sally thing was cute until she caught him getting a BJ. (@___@) Good LAWD I would be scarred for life. Fuck, I'm still jolted from discovering the lubricant coupons my mom had at one time, and I'm 24. (x_x)

Let's see...the episode needed more Joan, but I think I'll only be happy when she gets a main storyline again like what happened with Greg.

Also YAYWOOOOO MEGAN DRAPER. I love her even more now. I'm a little suspish of what's going to happen in the next episode. I jump to the worst-case-scenario-conclusions, but it would kind of be a twist if the love of Don's life cheated on him. But I love Don and Megan together so nononono I do not want that happening (>_<)

Really loved the episode, probably my favorite of the season so far. Loved Peggy but for once Sally's my favorite! So happy for her and then so hurt. It's not so much the BJ that was traumatizing but that it was Roger who was so nice to her and to be hit by the cheating sucks.

Glad Roger has his mojo back! Mona and him was awesome.

Oh good one! I forgot that she wanted to be an actress. I wasn't sure what her father had meant by the conversation about her selling out. I had other far fetched theories but this is a good one!
nonparaillenonparaille on May 1st, 2012 12:51 am (UTC)
No Betty, no curr. No, really, though, might I suggest we see other characters develop aside from Megan and more Megan? She's so weird, and, tbh, I had enough of her ever since "Tomorrowland." Not hating on her or anything. She's just not interesting at all, not matter how hard the writers are trying to sell her to viewers. The other more compelling characters have been so neglected at this point. Like Matt Weiner never follows through or is consistent with any of them, and it's annoying.

The bj scene was pathetic lbr. Seems like every time he tries to help himself, he ends up regressing a little bit and does something desperate. I had high hopes for him when he recruited flawless qween Mona to help him out and had yet another honest conversation, but, then, he went and ruined it with that very predictable fling with Megan's mom.

Joan looked and was amazing. She's always great. And I loved how she was like, Peggy plz stahp fangirling over me bc I'm normal just like you thx.

Peggy dodged a huge bullet during that argument with her mom, who didn't throw her baby in her face when Abe could've been right outside the door omg. She needs to stop being so self-centered though, bc she's alienating everyone imo.

Meh, the whole ep was a total downgrade from the last two. MM is slowing down so much. Nothing's happened and there are still so many things up in the air, and there's just not enough time to address everything at this season's pace bc the season's almost over ugh. At this point, all I can hope for is that they don't do something fucked up with Sally like Glenn pressuring her to have sex with him. That's all I care about.

I agree. I'm so sick of Megan. And I thought that bj scene was dumb. Why didn't they lock the door? It was shock for shock's sake.

I'm starting to think that Weiner has mother issues. There is not ONE remotely positive mother in the show.

He totally has mommy issues he needs to work out. I remember him getting somewhat defensive about this when an interviewer brought it up but I can't recall where I read/saw that.

Sally's not the only one who needs to see Dr. Edna.

This one is one of my most favorite episodes of the season. I doubt Sally's going to get traumatized over the bj. Even though she didn't tell her friend what happened (well, I assume anyway), her last line made me think she was okay and what a great line that was. I feel like she now fully realizes that adults have many many issues and they are all frakked up and she is better than them. I think she grew a little because of it.
